Here is a fun and engaging art activity based on the story, The Golden Goose. This activity encourages creativity, fine motor skills, and story recall—all in a fun and silly way!
Art Activity: “Golden Goose Parade” Collage
Materials:
- Large sheet of paper or poster board
- Yellow/gold feathers (craft or paper cutouts)
- Glue sticks
- Crayons or washable markers
- Scissors (adult use or pre-cut shapes)
- Pre-cut paper people shapes or printable “villagers”
Instructions:
- Introduce the Story: Briefly retell The Golden Goose . Emphasize the funny part where everyone gets stuck to the goose and forms a long parade!
- Create the Goose: Help children glue yellow or golden feathers onto a goose outline (drawn or pre-printed on the paper). Add eyes, beak, and wings with crayons or markers.
- Add the People: Give each child a paper “person” shape, who get stuck together in the story (the girl, the brother, the mother and the father.) Invite them to decorate their person with crayons and then glue it behind the goose to form a silly chain—just like in the story!
Afterwards, talk about the picture, asking students to retell the story.
