The Storyteller’s Journal

Welcome to the Storyteller’s Journal, where we explore Literacy, Language, Character, Culture & Creativity!

Discover wonderful stories from around the world, then head to the interactive webpage to write your responses and create illustrations in your own Story Journal. Along the way, you’ll build English language skills, expand your vocabulary, explore important character values, and express your creativity.

Here’s how it works:

  1. Listen to the Story – Listen and read along with the story video and enjoy!
  2. Think About the Story – Answer the discussion questions, learn new vocabulary words and complete the drawing activity in your Story Journal.
  3. Take a photo you your work and art and share it with me so I can watch your progress!

What You’ll Need

You’ll need to purchase your own sketchbook or binder to turn into your personal Story Journal. I recommend either:
A sketchbook sized 9½” × 11½”, or
A binder sized 11″ × 14″ that you can fill with unlined paper
You can decorate your Story Journal any way you like, so feel free to be creative and make it your own.

Tips:

  • Work at your own pace
  • Use the “Need a Hint?” button when needed
  • Write answers in your Story Journal
  • Draw pictures in you Story Journal
  • Take a photo of your work and share it with me by email or WeChat so I can see how you’re doing!
